Congratulations are in order for Fargin singer, Teniola Apata, aka Teni Entertainer, who just graduated from the University of Georgia.
She however delivered an outstanding thanksgiving song which happens to be a traditional Ondo song.
Teni, and afro-pop singer happens to be one of Nigeria’s fastest rising musicians breaking new grounds in the music industry.
She kicked off her career in 2016 when she signed to Magic Fingers Records, a label owned by Nigeria’s very own producer and serial hit maker, Shizzi.
It happens that she is the younger sister to afro-house singer, song writer and the third runner-up on the sixth season of Project Fame West Africa, Niniola Apata, better known by her stage name Niniola.
Surely, the music talent runs in the family.
TENI’s ACHIEVEMENTS SO FAR?
Let’s take to cognisance an industry where upcoming acts use the influence of other big artistes to grow, especially those whose siblings/family paved the way for a successful career.
D’Prince came under the shine of a Don Jazzy, Jessy Jags under M.I, B-Red and Shina Rambo all grew under the benevolence of DMW boss, Davido.
Teni is an exception. Reason being that she stood alone, making a name for her self regardless of her sister’s (Niniola) shine and prowess in the music industry.
Teni also achieved another milestone this year after bagging Rookie of the Year at the 2018 edition of the HEADIES Award.
With all this in sight, Teni deserves some accolades!!!
WHAT TO NEXT FROM TENI?
Could an album help Teni become the next major contender for next years “Next Rated” category at the 2019 Headies Award?
Or an EP to help water the grounds for an album?
Seeing that she already has the Rookie of the Year on her shelf, it is only expected that she vies for the Next Rated.
Don’t forget, to be able to qualify for that category, you need to have an album, a factor that had hindered Tekno for clinching that award in the 2017 edition of the HEADIES Award.
Meanwhile, Instagram sensation and comedian, Broda Shaggi has recorded a new tune PARIWO which features Teni.
PARIWO was released on the 1st of August, 2018.
LOOKING AT THE FUTURE
Judging by the trend and progression so far, it is relatively safe to infer that Teni has secured herself a space in the Nigerian music space. Critics and music lovers even hypothesize that she might even become a bigger brand compared to her elder sister Niniola.
