Kano state government has placed a ban on the street begging activity of Almajiris in the state.
According to a statement by Abba Anwar, the Kano state spokesman, any Almajiri that is caught begging in the state would be prosecuted along with his guardian and parent.
“If almijiri teacher thinks he cannot accept the new policy he has to leave the state,”.
“When Almajiri are caught begging, it is not only that beggar is caught, but his parents or guardians. Such parents or guardians would be taken to court to face the wrath of the law,” Mr Anwar quoted his principal as saying in the statement.
